If your code is making a call back to the server and the server is redrawing the html page… this will happen. The result is just like you are looking at the page for the first time.

Can you do your code without the refresh?

For example, if you are doing this simply to control other hide-whens there is an alternative method (STYLE visibiloity of the DIV). The solution might be to turn this into a hide-when thing, so you could use the alternative and keep the ‘real fields’ hidden and computed upon save.

If you are doing lookups, you could have several hidden fields doing every lookup that might be needed, then when the user picks something, you get the content from the appropriate hidden field… parse it, and place it into the displayed fields via javascript.

There are many options to make your web page perform correctly… for example, you could use ‘innerHTML’ to change displayed text or run an agent in a hidden frame (iFrame) to bring content back from the server.

You can use AJAX go get the service side values without refreshing.
