We have just upgrade our SMTP server to R6.0.1CF.
Since then we are having some strange problems with some users (this problems didn’t exists with the same server in R5.0.11).
We have two users with a very similar internet address. “juan.lopez@domainname.com” and “juan.llopez@domainname.com”. When the server receive some internet messages addressed to one of this two users we obtain the next error message:
“Recipient user name juan.lopez@domainname.com not unique. Several matches found in Domino Directory.”
This error only raise if the message comes from internet, if the messages is internal (notes routing) then the message is delivered without problems.
The address resolution is done with an Extended Domino Directory. In the messaging configuration document we have the setting “Address lookup” with the value: “Fullname only”, and the “Exhaustive lookup” with the “Disabled” value.
Can someone help us to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
Jorge Tomé

Jorge, remove your email from this forum, it will be scanned by spammers’ bots and holllaa!
if you put address lookup “fullname only”, I think this can be a cause. To find who has the both email addresses, open the hiiden view $Users, it is sorted and it is easy to find who are the users with the same email.

Thank you for the advice, but i already had a lot of spam, a little more it is not a problem (it’s really a pity that in my environment i cannot use the mail rules feature).

I had done this already. There are not users with the same email, that’s the problem!. In the ($Users) view the emails are:
“antonio.lopez@domainname.com”
“antonio.llopez@domainname.com”
But it seems the Lotus Domino server is not able to diferentiate between “l” and “ll”.
If the difference is with another letter, for example antonio.sopez@domainname.com and antonio.ssopez@domainname.com the server routes the mail without problems.
Thanks for your answer, another ideas?
