I have a client with an R5 application server. They are not using any mail feature with Domino. Only the administrator have a mail file. I have some problems with the recertification process when an ID is expired.
I did some tests, here are the information :
The user ask for a renew certificate which was sent to the administrator throught Notes
The administrator received the request.
The administrator accepted and recertified the id. but when it comes to send the ID back the user, I have a problem : the user only have an internet adress, the user doesn’t have a Notes mail file.
It seems I’m loosing that mail, it never gets to the e-mail adress of the user. (e-mail adress for the user is a pop3 account external to the company.)
How am I suppose to work with that?
When I do the recertification on the administrator side, from the people and group tab, it works fine.

Recertify Expired User IdsThis process is tortuous as the security is intended to ensure that departing users cannot use their id after leaving an organisation.
Use a system that has location document to enable disconnected access to Notes, ie with local mail file.
Place the expired user id with a unique name and in the notes\data directory.
Switch to the disconnected location.
4)Switch to the expired id
Request a certificate with this id, sending the request to you own id.
Open Mail.box
Cut mail request from mail.box and paste into your own mail file.
Switch to your own id, and then switch to the connected location.
9 ) Open mail file, open recertify request.
10 )Certify attached id and mail back to yourself rather than the user.
Switch to the disconnected location.
Switch to the expired id
Open mail file, open certificate response, accept new certificate into the id.
Switch back to your own id, and then switch to the connected location.
The id file can then be transferred to a diskette or be emailed to local admin person for them to install on the users machine.
