I have a database where the Readers field got “corrupted” with “ERROR: Incorrect data type for operator or@Function: Text Expected” as the Reader Names value. I know this because I built a categorized view to show what the Readers field value contains. Unfortunately, the data I really need is contained within a table in a rich text field so I can’t use the categorized view method to view the rich text field contents.
I don’t know how the problem happened, but I’m trying to find a way to get access to the documents so I can reset the Readers field to the appropriate role that is supposed to be in this Reader Names field. There are no other Reader or Author fields on the document so using other user names or roles is useless. The database is on an iSeries box running an AS400 OS, so that server does not have a Notes client installed where I could attempt to access the documents by being logged in as the server. Backup tapes that contained “good” documents have been overwritten, so that’s not an option.
I have even gone to the extent of putting the “ERROR …” as a user alias in a person document in the hope the server would recognize the the “ERROR…” as a person alias and allow access to the documents.
I have also tried logging onto an NT server as the NT server itself and replicating the database, but the “ERROR…” documents will not replicate.
Any other ideas to gain access to these documents would be much appreciated.
