RAS connection fails after upgrading from R4 to R6

Has anyone using R6 been able to successfully create a Network Dialup (RAS) based connection?

I’m working on upgrading an R4 server to R6. Everything works after the upgrade except for the RAS connection. Domino will use the Windows RAS connection, dial out, but after the connection is established it is immediatly dropped and Domino logs an error about the password not being valid for the current domain.

The RAS connection through Windows is working as expected, and if the RAS connection is kicked off from Windows, Domino can then piggyback the open connection and replicate and send/recevie mail.

I’ve tried modifying the original connection document, as well as recreating the connection document entirely just in case it was somehow corrupted by the upgrade.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This is the error you get right?

RAS Error 691: Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain.

I am using Domino 652&3 The 653 client have issues, I went back to client 652.

I have the same problem. I also have the problem that you can’t select Choose a service type: Microsoft Dial-Up Networking. It is just blank, I had to cheat to get it in there.

In your connection document, just use the same Dial-Up Networking name as the OS Dial-Up Networking name and in the connection document take out the user name and password.

Cheers
