R7 Server based Disclaimers not working

We are implementing Disclaimers on all outbound SMTP mail. We have the configuration doc and Policy setup and applied to me only right now as a test. Disclaimers are not working.

My question is…do we set this up on the mail servers, or on the smtp gateway server(Domino) ?? We have it set on the mail server only at this point, which drops outbound smtp mail on the gateway. The gateway does not have the configuration setup yet and it is still 6.5.6.

I’ve been scouring the Forum for two days about Disclaimers and can’t find any answer as to which server(s) need to be R7 and which need the Disclaimer info setup.

Help

First you want to confirm that the policy/setting was pulled down by the client from the server. This can be done by making a change to the Mail settings doc that you can confirm changed your client setting…

once confirmed, in the Mail settings doc you can set the client to add the disclaimer.

Go to the mail settings doc--> Message Disclaimers tab and enable the "Notes Client can add disclaimers

this will allow the client to add the disclaimer instead of the server.

To disable it on the server, open the Server Configuration doc–>Router/SMTP–>Message Disclaimers…here you can disable the server from placing the disclaimer.

The Admin help files has some good docs about how the client vs the server adds the disclaimer.

hope this helps.

Thanks…I get all that…and we want the server to do the disclaimer.

My question is…WHICH server(s) should do the disclaimer? Only the ones sending SMTP mail to the internet, or ALL servers? or just users’ home mail server?

Thanks!

The SMTP server needs the disclaimer setup. The disclaimer gets added when the document is converted as it gets sent out to the internet.
