Hello,I am running 6.0.2 CF2 on Windows XP and it appears that the SSL cert doesnt work. I have heard you have to give some permissions to the files, but how do you do that?
If anyone could walk me through it, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jim

WinXP (Pro or Home) is not a server platform, Domino will run but you can get all sorts of weird things happening.
A search would have found a lot of posts about it.

This isnt a very helpful response to this posting. I have run Domin on Windows 2000 Pro many times and have never had an issue. Windows XP has an issue with permissions I believe. Also, I have looked though this forum and support and havent found anything that can walk me through it.

gawd, not very helpful? if you want the gory details - i’ve run a domino r6.5.1 server on both XP home and pro with SSL enabled, it will usually run fine for a while until at some stage the key file screws up, it’s still there, it just doesn’t work any more, and you have to regenerate the SSL key until it screws up again.
I have run Domin on Windows 2000 Pro many times and have never had an issue.
Domino is not guaranteed to run on XP - period, it’s a client platform, not sure about Win2000 Pro but Win2000 Server is definately OK, so stick to what the software is meant to run on and then come back here if you still have a problem, otherwise you are just wasting everybody’s time.

i found Xp does not screw up the key itself but its file security. for us our server runs as service and thus with the uswer SYSTEM. Xp tends to delete the file acces for this user and only leaves the current user that is logged in.
after this has happened the domino server cannot access the SSL keys anymore.
changing the file access and adding SYSTEM again makes SSL work again.

Raymond is right, it is really in your best interest to not run the server on XP. It isn’t a certified platform for the server. What I would recommend if you are running a test machine on an XP box is that you can get VMWare and run a virtual Windows 2000 machine on it. This is how I do all of my demos on my xp box. The nice thing about VMWare is then you can run any intel based OS that you want with XP as the host including W2k, W2003 and Linux (all certified domino server platforms).
Good Luck,
Rob
