Hello All.
I am very new to LNT and I have just installed a LNT 8.5.2 server for testing, so excuse if me questions are too trivial.
We would like to use LNT with Apple’s iPad and I have not found in the documentation all information I needed. As far as I have understood, Contacts, Journal and Calendar (obviously) are stored in the mail file of the user. We are currently using separate DBs for Contacts and Journal which works fine with a BlackBerry server, as long as the user is a roaming user.
My questions regarding LNT functionality:
- How do contacts sync with the LNT client? We have currently three locations where contacts are stored: a) User’s address book b) Domino Directory and c) an address book in our CRM running on Domino with similar design as names.nsf
Can I get all these address books syncing with me LNT client device like we are doing for the BlackBerry server currently?
- Each user has a personal journal created as a separate DB, so entries are not stored in the mail files. Is this supported in the LNT?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

- contacts have to be in the mail database for Traveler clients. If your client population is using iNotes, this is already true. If you are using a notes client, you can replicate your Notes client’s contacts from their address book to the mail file. See this topic in the Traveler documentation: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/How_do_I_enable_contacts_syncing_on_my_Apple_device_LNT852

The Journal database can be synchronized to the mail database, though you have to manually force this to happen by selecting a synchronize to mail file action from within the Notes client. There is no automatic way to do this via the replicator tab. However, only Traveler Windows Mobile and Nokia devices support Journal synchronization. Apple and Android devices do not have this capability at this time.
