I am just wondering if you know anybody or have a similar situation as ours. We have Domino 6.5 installed on ISeris. We are authenticating using ldap. We are not using notes client. All of our Domino Databases are web based. We use outlook for email. We have had a consultant working on performance issues for about a month. When we attempt to authenticate to a database, it takes around 10-13 seconds to authenticate. It does not matter what database we are trying to access all are slow. Once authenticated we have great performance. I think that 10-13 seconds it unreasonable. Should we experience better performance or is this as good as it gets. Does anybody experience faster authenticating times when authenticating using LDAP under these situations.
Subject: Question about Active Directory.
I haven’t done extensive testing with groups/nested groups switched on in the Directory Assistance doc because it did seem to slow Domino down. With them off it works just fine - no noticeable difference to logging in using a NAB login.
Our AD is large, many thousands of users, we even have groups with several thousands of people.
If you have more than one LDAP server try specifying more than one in the DA document. I’m not sure if Domino spreads the load but it certainly helps when your normal LDAP server goes down!
