Public and Private Documents and Entries

How would you go about restricting access to certain documents or entries in the general discussion or doc library database.

What I would like to do is have anyone able to create documents but only certain people able to read the docs or entries.

Is this possible? Anyone have any ideas on where I should start?

This is admittedly from someone who is trying to find his way around domino.

Subject: You could use the built-in document property.

By unchecking the All Readers… option and specifying Names (or Groups or Roles) in the box below, documents can be limited to specific people. This would work in any Notes database.

Warning - you’ll need Full Access Administrator rights to undo this for a document if someone messes it up, and no-one is allowed to read it.

Subject: Use Depositor and Reader ACL entries

You can set Default on the database to Depositor, allowing everyone to create entries. But they won’t be able to see any of the entries, even their own. Then the group that should be able to read entries, give them Reader access. If these folks should also be able to create entries, then bump them up to Authors with the ‘Create documents’ checkbox selected.

Hope this helps

Subject: Thank you! ACL by fomula?

Both those posts are good advice, thank you!

Can you change ACL on individual documents by way of a formula? Is this “supported”?
