Prompt for login when try to execute local domino call through Java applet

Created an applet called “notesCalendar” in a JSP page…

<applet name=“notescalendar” code=“com.ibm.test.applet.notesCalendar.class” archive=“notesCalendar.jar,Notes.jar” width=“700” height=“300” MAYSCRIPT alt= "…

In order to run the applet on client browser, I’ve to include the Notes.jar file and client’s machine must have Notes client installed and have PATH (i.e. C:\Notes ) included in PC’s environment variables.

When user clicks a button on the JSP, it will trigger this applet to do a local domino call ( No remote call is allowed in the current setup, a policy issue ) to check user’s calendar schedule and return the result back to JSP page.

We’ve two clients with same version of Notes client installed, same WinXP, same JVM. and path setup. Both have Notes client opened before to run the applet but somehow one of the client (A) was prompt to login whenever to check schedule while the other client (B) never get prompted. Any idea what’s wrong?

p.s. it’s not about the client’s notes db / calendar setup / access issue because client (A) tried to use his own ID to work on client (B) machine and it’s totally fine for him, without getting prompt.
