This problem occurs when an associate creates a Link Message to a group and then when a recipient reads the email they inadvertently generate a similar Link Message to the original group.
This is a serious problem when the Link Message is addressed to all Notes users. This results in a lot of “spam”.
This does not appear to happen to all users (or very few people are reading the message).
When users that inadvertently generated the unwanted email are questioned, they say all they did was open the message, open the link, close the link, and close the message. However, the only way I have been able to generate a Link Message from the Link Message is to open the link message, put the link message in edit mode, when I close the link message I am prompted to save my changes (even though I made none), if I do not respond “No” a link message is generated to the original group addressed to.
The first occurence of this problem was after we began conversion from 6.5.4 to 7.0.2.
Assistance resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
