My wife was using Lotus Organizer for Calendar and Contacts with her Blackberry. When she got a new computer and updated her Blackberry (sorry I did that now) it no longer works with Lotus Organizer. So I downloaded the Lotus Notes 8.5 demo and installed it on her computer. The Contacts part works fine and I imported her old contact from Lotus Organizer. The Calendar is another matter though. When I try to open the Calendar I get a dialog that says “File does not exist”. I played around with it for a while but could find no way to fix it. I removed and reinstalled the demo and the problem is still there. Does the demo have Calendar? Any ideas how to get it to work?
Thanks,
Subject: Create a new mail file from the 8.5 template
The Notes calendar is part of the mail file. Create a new mail database using File - Application - New, then select the Mail (R8.5) template and fill in the rest of the fields.
This new mail file will include Calendar capabilities.
Whether a standalone Notes install is the best overall solution for your wife’s PIM and Blackberry requirements is a broader topic.

New error dialog “Configuration settings for server either missing or invalid”.
Is it not possible to use the Calendar features without mail?
Thanks…
Subject: both are parts of the same database (application).
Subject: Does it work?
So is it possible to install the software in some manner so that it works? Providing both Contacts and Calendar?
Thanks,

for Notes itself, it works nicely for many years. Not sure what you did / tried to accomplish, I was reading your posts but simply did not get the whole storry.
P.S. Calendar in Notes does still not everything Organizer 1.0 would do (e.g. yearly view or something).
