Problem sending mails offline

We have a directory catalog with 3 adressbooks:

A. the DD of our Domino domain “domainA”

B. a adress book with entries of partners and customers with normal internet email-adresses, (which also contains groups like PARTNERS_COMPANY_A, CUSTOMERS_COMPANY_B etc. ). This adress book has no defined domain in the directory profile (because they are no Notes users to us but “foreign” internet mail users.

C. the replica of the DD of our “external” Domino domain “domainB”

all three adress books are condensed in our directory catalog “ABC”.

The problem are the groups of adressbook B: customers and partners. If Notes is connected with our home Domino server sending mail to one of these groups (i.e. PARTNERS_COMPANY_A) works perfect.

But if the user does the same without server connection, say “Island” mode, sending fails when reconnecting with the home server:

Delivery error: PARTNERS_COMPANY_A

(PARTNERS_COMPANY_A@local.domain) not listed in Domino Directory

where “local.domain” ist our correct qualified local network domain name.

short: it works when online but not in island mode, but why? Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Tom

Subject: local replica ?

Hi

Do your users have a local replica of the directory catalog? Do they have it included in their list of address books?

Subject: yes and no

Subject: Group Authorisation

… also have you got group authorisation enabled in your directory assistance db?

Subject: no, we don’t use directory assistance…

… it’s a directory catalog.
