Print Settings for Orientation not Resetting

Users with 8.0.2 FixPack 1 installed. Open an email and select print - change orientation to landscape. Next time user opens an email and prints, it prints in landscape until user changes orientation back to portrait. Users on client 8.0.2 WITHOUT FixPack 1, the setting does not save, but goes back to default of portrait after each print.

The desired behavior is that Notes would not change the default setting, so that it would remain as portrait unless user changes Printer default settings in Windows.

Shouldn’t Notes be getting Print settings from the printer defaults in Windows?

Anyone else seen this and is there any way to change it so Notes the setting will not stick for subsequent prints?

Hi Tom,

I believe there are various Software Problem Reports (SPRs) that IBM has regarding various printing issues/questions. I recall working with Support and discussing various different SPRs for different releases and very similar issues to the one you are describing.

I would suggest calling into IBM Support and request to speak with the Client Team. They can definitely test the issue and either create a New SPR for the issue, or add your PMR to an existing SPR in hopes of it being fixed in a later release.

Additionally, they may have a workaround/fix for the issue as well - it doesn’t hurt to check, right? :slight_smile:
