Prevent Type Ahead for Group Names

Problem/Query:

Is there any way of excluding a Notes Group name from being auto-completed using Type Ahead?
For example, I have a group called “AllUsers”. If I type “allu” in the address field of an email and hit enter, the name “allusers” is added. Is there a way of preventing this so that users are forced to type (and know in advance) the full group name?

Hi Andrew,

Good day. I understand that you are looking for a way to prevent type-ahead for specific group names. However, there is no simple or documented method to exclude a particular Group document such as “AllUsers” from the Domino Directory’s Type-Ahead functionality while keeping Type-Ahead enabled for all other entries.

Type-Ahead is designed to search the available address books (Domino Directory, Personal Contacts, and Directory Catalogs) for any matching names based on the characters entered. It does not support an exclusion list for individual names or groups.

I hope this helps to clarify your query. Please let us know if you have anymore questions,

Hi,

As a workaround for this situation, you may restrict access to this type of public group[allusers] by allowing only the necessary users. To do this, enable “All Readers and above“ and grant access only to the people who need it. For example, the HR department might want to send mail to all users, so add only the HR group along with the admin ID. Hope this helps.
Thanks.
