Hi,We are right now defining how to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Domino 6.5.4.
We have tested some paths for migration, which include:
-
Migrate Mailbox using DUS
-
Migrate Mailbox using Binary Three
In both cases we have found that ALL the email stored in Exchange was marked as UNREAD in DOMINO.
The most of our users have read and unread items in his/her mailboxes. Is there any way of preserving this “read status information” keeping exactly as it was in Exchange???
Thanks in advance!!
Alberto.

Unread marks in Notes are per-user, and the Notes users have not read the documents yet.

I did the following to preserve the read/unread marks but it is time consuming.
-
LOAD LDAP on Domino Server
-
Set Internet Password for user
-
Configure users Outlook client to access the Domino server via IMAP
-
Using the outlook client copy (may also work if you do a move) all messages to the Domino server.
I found that I had to do each folder one at a time by going into the Exchange folder using Outlook pressing CTRL-A and then CTRL-C, creating the new folder on the Domino server using outlook, opening the new folder and pressing CTRL-V.
Hope this helps you or others. Like I said it takes a long time if people have lots of messages and/or lots of folders. I work on 1 hour per person, some take longer some shorter.
