Possible to change a internal User to external?

Hello,

is it possible to convert an internal user to an external one? If yes, is this documented?

If this is not possible I assume that I have to delete the user as internal user and import it again via SDI as external user.

Wannes posted a blogpost a year ago how to make external from internal, so you can try a reverse procedure: https://www.ramsit.com/2021/10/14/hcl-connections-external-user-to-internal/

However, the link does not work for me now...

In brief you have to change in PEOPLEDB:

PROF_MODE in EMPLOYEE and SURNAME tables
ROLE_ID in EMP_ROLE_MAP table
PROF_IMAGE and PROF_THUMBNAIL in PHOTO table

plus change ISEXTERNAL or TYPE in all other databases for the given UID

Hi Max,

This is not currently possible in the product and would be an unsupported user update. Our recommendation would be to create a new user for the change in status.

Apologies, my site is down atm

But I do not recommend the internal to external as it might accidentally expose internal info to an external user
