Possible to access NRPC Server port <> 1352?

For serveral reasons, we have one Domino server who is listening on a non-standard port (lets say 4711 instead of 1352). We have done this thru the notes.ini “TCPIP_TCPIPADDRESS=0,xxxx:4711”.

But how can we tell the Notes client to connect to this changed port number? We have tried to change the connection document in the personal address book (e.g. “Destination Server Address to server.host.name:4711”) but without success.

Is there a way to tell the client to use a different server port number for NRPC?

Thank you for your support.

Just set the port as you have in your notes.ini then use something like the below in on the advanced tab of your client connection doc (DNS names work too). We have hundreds of users doing this in all versions from 5.0.1 onwards.

I’m afraid you can’t. I’ve tried this before with Notes 4.6/5.0 without success.

Finally we solved the issue with firewall/proxy configurations. But this is probably not what you want.

Could you have your router force this using Network Address Translation?
