Please help me to fix the error " . . .time is too far in the future"

Dear all,

I have a problem:

Last week I setup NTP on all my servers. But unfortunately the date system of the Domino Server is changed to 01/01/2070. From that time when I Start the Domino Server I saw the error “. . . <\dirve\lotus\data\mail\mailfile.nsf> time is too far in the future” for every mail file on the server. Then I quit the Domino server and changed date to exact date, Restart the Domino Server but it has the same error.

From that day, all my users sometime complain that their mail have problem such as in comming mail is not in the inbox but it is in the all documents folder or see the new mail alert but no see new mail in the inbox folder or unread mail is black not red, . . . "

When I check the info of the mail file, I saw the date modified is 01/01/2070.

I used commands to fix this error such as fixup, updall but it can’t.

Could you please help me how to fix this error or give me any advice.

Domino Server is R 6.0.3 on Win2k

Notes Client is R 6.0.3

Thanks & Regards

Philip

You need to delete the replication history on all your databases. Also clear the cut of date (only replicate incoming documents saved or modified after) in the Replication Settings (under Other).

On the workstations clear the NewMailSeqNum= setting in the notes.ini

I had the same problem with the same symptoms.Your problem are the time stamps in the database(s) and on the view indeces. Yo have to create a new replica of the database.

You can do the following:

With the client on the server machine create a local replica in a temporary directory, stop the server, and replace the original db file with the new one. Restart the server.

We had the same problem and I made matters worse.

I changed the date on my laptop to simulate what was happening and now Notes has held on to the newer date. Even after I set the date back to the correct date, Notes will still think it is the future.

Rebooted, reset the clock, rebooted again, even threw away my desktop.dsk (groan!) no help.

Symptomes are:

creation date is the correct date but the modified date is the future date. And I cannot reset this.

Problem with this is, that the documents do not replicate properly.

How in the world can I reset the internal Notes clock?

Notes 6 by the way

Please any help is greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with Notes 7 Beta 3, but searching for the issue on LDD, it seems to happen also in earlier, final notes versions. The fix for this is probably very easy, just one bit gone wrong somewhere, but I haven’t found the location of that particular bit yet.I also tried to remove my whole Notes installation, and installing Notes from scratch, without any existing files, user id’s etc…, and the problem remains. So the future date information must be set somewhere in the operating system, but even with a full search for files modified in future, I didn’t find anything, so my next guess is that the future info is somewhere inside some operation system’s file, maybe in the paging file, or some other caching file.
