Personal address book will not replicate to server

I had to do a complete reinstall on several users when installing lotus notes 8.5.1 client on their Win XP laptops. Upon completion I attempted to create a replica of their Personal Address Book on the server for backup purposes and it does not work. It does not create the entry in teh replcation and sync screen. It does seem to create a new replica file but when you try to access it it displays: Database is not fully initialized yet. You will have to use ‘Replicate…’ on the File, Replication menu to initialize it." I checked the file access control and verified rights, I checked the file properties and made sure Disable background agents for this db is not checked, I checked the location/replication Create new replicas immediately is selected. Any suggestions? I created a new journal file and was able to relicate it to the server so it seems like it is related only to the Personal Address Book. All 3 users that I had to create a new sync with have this problem. If they had an existing sync of the Personal Address Book it seems ok.

Subject: Synchronize Contacts

Does anyone know if “Synchronize Contacts” in the replication tab now replicates the personal address book to a specified server (if a replica is manually created by a user) as well as and updates the contacts into the webmail contact list in the mail-file.nsf file?

has anyone else experienced thsi problem? see link: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/5f27803bba85d8e285256bf10054620d/9fa341ba71bdcad18525768c002ac41b?OpenDocument

Subject: Rights issue

I am not 100 % sure, but I believe normal users are not authorised to create replicas on the server per default. Thus the process cannot complete.

Try giving the users this right in the server document’s ‘Security’ tab. Maybe it will then work
