Person Rename not working

Hi,

Everytime I do a rename it doesn’t work. I thought maybe because the public key is different but even if I make the user to mail me the public key and copy it into the person’s document it still doesn’t work. So I created a test user ID and then renamed it. But when I logged in as the Test User, I was never prompted to accept the new name. Is it because the server is version 6 and the Domino Administrator is on version 5? Am I doing anything wrong?

Version 6 does not prompt for the rename. It just does it. The user does not have a choice.

Check admin4.nsf for the rename document. Is there any information about the state of the rename process?

Thxs for your replies.I’m using Notes Client version 5 and the Domino Server is Version 6.

Do I have to complete the move in the “Name Move Requests” view before being prompted for the new name?

I’ve tried to do the rename again. In the admin4.nsf database, i’ve only got the “Initiate rename in Domino Directory”. This has been successful but in the “Name Move Requests” view I don’t have anything.

Did you open the “Name Move Requests” view in admin4.nsf and complete them to move to the next steps?
