Performance of CreateView Method (vs db.FTSearch)

Was wondering what the performance would be of creating a a new view off a web user’s query input (on the fly). Typically I would use the db.FTSearch method and build the output.

But since I’ve never used it, I was wondering if anybody has used the CreateView Method to create a view (for a web user) instantaneously; and what the performance would be (as compared to doing it with a db.FTSearch and a built output).

Performance will generally be worse. I’m sure it’s possible to create a ftsearch or db.search that performs worse than creating a view on the fly, but generally speaking you’ll find that creating the view on the fly will not be a good performer.
