I’m using Notes 6.5.5 on my Mac Powerbook. When I open my user database to look at my email I get a “Path not found” message box, but it opens fine. Can anyone tell me why this happens, if I can get rid of it and how.
Thanks in advance
John

Subject: Path not found
Are you connected to your office network or are you working disconnected?
If you are disconnected, it may be that you are failing over to a local replica, or there might be some custom code in the mail file that is looking for a resource on a server that you can’t reach.
Subject: RE: Path not found
As far as I know I’m connected to the windows network were the domino server is. Do I need something on the server to let it know there is a mac connected to it?
Subject: RE: Path not found
No, all you need is a working TCP/IP connection (I don’t think, that any other protocol is in use?) and a means for the client to resolve the Domino server name (which might be very different from the server’s host name).
This could be done via a connection document, DNS or a local hosts (how is it called on your version of MacOS?) file.
Subject: can you trace a connection?
What happens when you trace a connection back to your mail server? If the Mac client menu is the same as Windows, you can do this under File - Preferences - User Preferences, then click on the Ports tab, and then the Trace button. Does the same message pop up?
