Passing Server Commands Into Lotus Notes Console From A Batch File

Hi,

I need to create a Windows batch file that passes console commands (tell http q, or tell notrix q) into a Notes server.

I know you can pass commands into a Notes sever console via an agent on another server but I would like to keep it within windows environment so I can simply run it anytime from the desktop.

Any help would be most appreciated,

Cheers,

Use the following in your batch file script.

Windows e.g.:

c:\lotus\domino\nserver.exe -c “show server”

c:\lotus\domino\nserver.exe -c “restart server”

yep, worked perfect for me too!

Be sure to include the “-c” switch after nserver.exe

Also, is your Domino Server running as a service?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I’ve tried what you said and it opens another instance of nserver.exe and tells me “nserver.exe already in use”. It doesn’t pass it to the current instance.

Is there a way of refering to the server name (DominoQA in this case) instead of the executable file?

I found your post recently while researching the same problem. Figured it out myself and thought I’d share my solution in case you or anyone else still needs one, belatedly though it may be. This works for me (on Domino 7), so no guarantees…

It would seem that the apparent success of others is because they are not using partitioned Domino servers? On a partitioned server try creating a command using the following example (assuming “Server1” is the Domino server partition’s data directory, and also the location of the notes.ini):

cd C:\Lotus\Domino\Server1

C:\Lotus\Domino\nserver.exe “=C:\Lotus\Domino\Server1\notes.ini” -c “tell http q”
