Partition Server setup

Hi all,

I recently installed a domino server with 2 partitions

I started the first partition and setup domino and it has been running fine for a couple of weeks now.

I wish to start the second partition and set it up, but alas clicking on the second icon returns a Lotus Notes: error 0x143

How do I run the second partition so I can set it up. Triggering it from windows services returns the same error.

Both icons on the desktop have different target paths

Partition1

C:\Lotus\Domino\nserver.exe =C:\Lotus\Domino\Mel0\notes.ini"

Partition2

C:\Lotus\Domino\nserver.exe “=C:\Lotus\Domino\Mel1\notes.ini”

The second parititon is not setup

Shutting down the Partition1 and trying to run the Partition2 icon gives me the same error as well.

Anyone have any ideas on this one :frowning:

Cheers

Subject: Partition Server setup

Hi,

Maybe:

‘0x143’ or ‘Domino terminated abnormally’ errors occur when attempting to execute server tasks

It doesn’t start or it crashes?

Do you have a NSD files ?If so, post the FATAL THREAD section of the NSD files.

Subject: RE: Partition Server setup

The Partition I’m trying to start isn’t setup yet, as in I’m trying to start it so I can go through the Domino setup.

So no NSD yet…

notes.ini on Partition 2

[Notes]

NotesProgram=C:\Lotus\Domino

Directory=C:\Lotus\Domino\Mel1

KitType=2

InstallType=4

PartitionNumber=2

ServiceName=Lotus Domino Server (LotusDominoMel1)

FileDlgDirectory=C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\My Documents

Hence I wish to start it and go through the domino setup screens

Bloody additional software.

Looks like BackupExex remote agent was causing some grief, un-installed it, ran second partition setup (no issues starting this time), then re-installed backup exec remote agent.

All working fine now.
