Outlook Express migration to Notes Mail

…looking for info on migrating folders, messages and contacts from Outlook Express clients to Notes/Domino 6.5.x.

Notes will be the default email client once migration is complete.

Ch16 of http://www-12.lotus.com/ldd/doc/uafiles.nsf/docs/Domino6PR2/$File/upgrade.pdf suggests the Domino Admin can send an upgrade message to clients with OE mail to initiate conversion. “Outlook Express” is not an option when creating a “Convert local” upgrade message in Domino Administrator.

Running “Nupgrade.exe 4” from a CMD line is worthless since it does not create the OE folder structure within the Notes mail database.

Nconvert.exe seems to be just for converting Notes to Notes –

Am I missing something within Notes/Domino that would make this process easier or is there no way to address enterprise conversion without a 3rd party tool?

The migration toolkit is aimed at converting Outlook rather than Outlook Express. (The conversion can occur both at the Exchange store level and with local PST files.) I don’t think OE is generally considered to be an “enterprise application”.

Thanks for your response Stan,

Please note that the intro to chapter 16 of the RedBook document that I referenced in my inquiry reads…

“This chapter contains information about the user upgrade wizards for migrating personal messaging data from cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Outlook Express, and Microsoft Exchange clients to Lotus Notes 6”.
