Outbound mail stuck after 550 response

Hi,I’ve got a problem that I just can’t seem to find any info on. Here are the details…

Mail queued for delivery to a domain gets stuck if one of the messages has a bad address. I’ve pasted the log below (sans identifying information). You can see there are 5 messages queued for delivery to the domain. A 550 response is issued for the bad address and the connection is dropped. (I was told the receiving domain always drops the connection with a 550 error as part of their spam prevention - “standard practice”.) The last entry says “No messages transferred”.

The other messages are delayed sometimes up to 24 hours (I guess when the delivery time expires on the message with the bad address it’s cleared from the queue freeing the others for delivery.) If the message with the bad address is deleted from the queue, the other messages are delivered immediately.

So, anyone have any ideas as to what’s going on?

Here’s the log…

I know this may sound real basic but did you try stopping and restarting the router task?

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the server. I’m kind of stuck in the middle.

The problem has been going on intermittently for close to a year. I just spoke with my email hosting provider (we’re on the receiving end of this) and was told it doesn’t look like the Notes server is following RFC standards. It is sending data commands and not listening to responses.

I’m waiting for a detailed message from my provider and will keep this thread posted.

Thanks
