Out Of Office

Out of Office? What can i say… its a bit embrassing, but i cant seem to get it to work consistantly. i made sure that the Server Doc security is set correctly, ACL in mail file is to the user as manager, i tried to refresh/replace mail file design with various versions also. when i enable OOO on user A, and i go to user B to send a test message to user A, this happens:

  1. some users takes a long time, and others dont get a reply.

i am pulling my hair out. please help

a strange thing that i noticed earlier was,

one particular user got a reply straight away and after that, the replies stopped…

i feel a bit stupid repling back to my own email, BUT…more things that i tried…

  1. change the server port net address to 127.0.0.1

  2. ran agent manually from designer. WORKED! hemmm?

  3. when i agent as a ‘test’ in the designer i get this error message:

‘CN=Brian Gridley/OU=Braeside/O=EgoPharm’ has unrestricted rights to run LotusScript/Java agents on ‘CN=lnmel01/OU=Braeside/O=EgoPharm’.

then a ran another manual ‘live’, it works…

it seems like the automation of it all is flakey…

please please help

If it still works the same in r6 I believe the Out Of Office (OOO) agent acts once a day per person. Meaning if you send an email to someone with the agent enabled you will receive a Out Of Office response. Any subsequent message you send the individual will not result in a response. So test from a different email source.

thanks heaps for your response Elijah…in version 5.10 it use to send it out as soon as you receive the email… could this be a bug?

or in this version 6 the agent is ran less to save resourses?

this is really odd, does this basically mean that, once a person sends a email to a particular person that has the OOO enabled they will only receive a response once in that day?

and what if they have send multiple emails in that day, will the agent run the following day and reply to the rest of the emails?

Confussion,hemm…this is really weird, i thought agents are designed to run when ever you tell it…

this may also explain the reason why the agent for the address book sync, and why you cant automate it to sync reguarly rather than manually (action, sync address book) - for inotes…

You can manually go into the agent and change the schedule. I changed ours to run hourly. You can do this on an individual basis or on the mail template.
