OSX: D&D with two Screens

I have got a MB with the menu bar (main screen) in front of me. A 20" Display is behind the MB. The 2nd screen is defined to extend the Desktop above the MB.The first time I’m dragging an object – attachment in mail – the drag object is outlined as a rectangle accompanied by a “parking forbidden” icon.

I move the mouse onto the 2nd screen moving up out of the content area of Notes over the window and menu bar into the 2nd screen.

In the 2nd screen I drop the object on to the Desktop, still seeing the parking forbidden icon.

No object is dropped!

Hi Michael

Thanks for your feedback. I have no such a 2nd screen test environment, I’m afraid if the menu bar stop the drag action, do you try the same action in a finder or in mail, or how about put the 2nd screen at the left or the right of your main screen? Does it work as your expected.

Subject: First D&D…

Hi Kun LiangWell, I just re-launched Notes and I am not that sure on how to reproduce the case. Anyhow

the menu bar is not stopping the D&D action

the quadratic outline of the object is visible on the 2nd screen → so far this is case

after re-launch of Notes

I could NOT re-produce the case as noted above, but

the grabbed attachment becomes selected,

Notes shows the beach ball

after waiting for Notes to be responsive again the drop does not drop the drop target: a 2nd attempt is ok

Hi Michael, now the problem seems to be an common drag & drop issue, when the server performance is not well or the attachment is too big, the drag & drop action will be delayed or may failed, can you try it in a single screen, the problem might be the same. If yes, this is a known SPR #SSZG7H3HBH
