Hi,
is it possible to change the presentation of a table so that rows and columns are transposed?
example:
original:
a1 a2 a3 a4
b1 b2 b3 b4
c1 c2 c3 c4
aim:
a1 b1 c1
a2 b2 c2
a3 b3 c3
a4 b4 c4

Subject: Orientation of the table in a view
Hi
Your question means that you have a finite number of documents…
or that you want an infinite number of rows.
Within notes, this is not possible.
Consider display your view ‘manually’ with HTML and hyperlinks…

I would have thought that this is possible although I have not tried it. You could use a combination of (i) setting “Treat View Contents as HTML” and (ii) Using nested tables.
In your example, the first document’s data would be stored as a table with one column and four rows nested inside a table with three columns and one row. Altogether there would be three tables nested inside one table.
If you need more help, let me know.

I thank you all for your advices. To make the example more precise, i give you exact aim of what i will achieve:
in the database (filled in through Mask):
| Mr. | Smith | Paul | Downingstreet Nr. 10 | 12341 | London | CEO of fantasy firm |
in the site on web-browser:
headline
Adress:
Mr. Paul Smith
CEO of fantasy firm
Downingstreet Nr. 10
12341 London
I want to present an adress in the web, which ist editable through a mask. so taht teh internal users can change the content of the the through a notes mask.

Hmmm, there was talk about views, but that’s not what you mentioned. What kind of table is this? Where does the data come from? IS it a view? Or a table in a Rich Text field on a form? Or a table you have hard-coded into the form design? Or a bunch of fields in a table on the form? Or something else? Where is the table located and how was it created? With a couple of the methods I listed, this might be possible to do. I’m assuming this is a data issue, and not something hand typed into a table on a form.

I think the clue was in the title :->

apologies. perhaps all that money i spent on lasik was wasted. With an html view that builds a table, it would still be possible to manipulate the data to change the rows to columns and vice versa, so that the documents’ data go up and down instead of side to side, but it comes back to “why?”. What’s the hope or requirement here? Is this the best option?
