we cannot determine the native data type of an oracle column declared as 'varchar2(10 char) within an notes agent. The Agent (Lotus Notes 6.5) is accessing Oracle 10gR2 with Oracle Client 10.02.00.03 via ODBC.
The method call ‘Result.FieldNativeDataType(i)’ returns ‘-9’ and this integer isn’t supported.
Surprisingly, the declaration of ‘varchar2(10)’, which represents ‘varchar(10 bytes)’ in oracle), delivers the correct native datatype ‘varchar’. Why isn’t that working for ‘varchar2(10 char)’? Other VisualBasic applications, using the same ODBC configurations, have no such problems.
Any ideas?
