Opening One Frameset from a Frame

Hi Everybody,

I am having 2 Framesets. 1st Frameset is having 2Frames. In one Frame I am calling a page which contains a Hotspot link. In that Hotspot I have called the 2nd Frameset.

So when user clicks the Hotspot from the 1st Frameset, I want the the 2nd Frameset should overwrite the 1st Frameset, I mean it should open in the same window.

Now when I am trying to do that it is opening the 2nd Frameset in the 1st Framesets’ left Frame, which was having the Hotspot.

It is a Web based application.

Can anybody suggest some idea to solve this.

Thanks,

SaSwat

Hi.Can you put the code?

Subject: RE: Opening One Frameset from a Frame

hii,There is only 1 formula on the hotpot text present in the 1stframeset written as :

@SetTargetFrame(“top”);

@Command([OpenFrameset]; “2ndframesetname”)

Where top is the target frameset name in which 2nd frameset will be opened

Thanks

Hi,

Make sure all frames are names,

You need to change/set the ‘target frame’ - eg. on a form you can set this on a form event called ‘target’,

Or you can change the ‘Default for links in frame’ option and specify the name of the frame when you open the properties of the ‘frame’ in question when in the ‘frameset’

The way you are trying, always opens a frameset in a new window. If you want to overlap the 1st frameset with 2nd frameset, you have to try a different approach.

The first frameset in which you have the hotspot, embed this frameset in another frameset and name it “TopFrame”. That means “TopFrame” contains your 1st Frameset with two frames in which the left frame will have the hotspot. Now adjust your hotspot formula in such a way that it opens second frameset in this “TopFrame” which overlaps the 1st Framset. ie; Use @SetTargetFrame as TopFrame and open 2nd Frameset.
