I have installed Notes/Domino 6 Lotus Notes 7.0.2 and am trying to open a .nsf database on my laptop. I open it okay but can only view mettings and can’t see any emails. I know there are lots of emails in the database as it is 101 MB.Any ideas please?

Sounds like an ACl issue. The calendar is public or delegated to you but the access control is not letting you view the email, make sure the ID you are using is in the ACL as reader or above.

Thanks for that. How do I check the access control? I went to File > Database > Access Control but it says
“You have insufficient privilege to observe User Access for this Database”. How can I change this?
The database is my own after I left a company so it’s not connected to anything. I just want to be able to view my old company emails!

You could try making a copy (file-database-copy). In the dialog box, there is an option for “copy access control list” make sure it is unchecked.
If that does not work there are tools you can use that will change the access control list but the ones I have used need a domino server which I assume you do not have, it also assumes that the server is listed in the ACL.
Your best bet is to request another copy of your mail file with the default user set to manager.
Here is more info to the same effect:

I tried to create a new copy of the database (without ACL) and then tried to replicate this but was unsuccessful. I won’t be able to geta new copy of the database as I have now left the company.
Will try again though
