Opening a file that is in a lot of folders

An user is having problems opening a link to a file that is in a lot of folders. Also, the file is in a network drive. Ex: \servername\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4\filename

Is there a limit of how many folders a file can be in before there are issues with opening the file?

Thanks for your help in advance.

When the user clicks on the link, they get an error pop-up that says “Can not find file “”. Please make sure that the filename is correct”.

When I clicked on a link that I added to a document that is in the same amount of folders or even more, I get the same error. The filepath I entered was correct.

Does file path & file name contain sapce? All amount of filepath&filename do not exceed 255 characters.

Hi, not sure it is your case but the full path length must be less than 256 characters.
