Open linked document from path g:\data\tes.dwg

I have a form that I would like to link a document into, not attached as the document will change.I have a button that will select the file and add the path to a field on the form. The field displays the path to a document on a file server, g:\data\test.dwg.

When I now select the path it tries to open up in Interent Explorer. It displays in blue and looks like a URL. I would like to open the file with the appropriate software. If it is an autocad drawing I would like the option of launching it in Auto Cad.

Is there a button and script that will allow “Open With” or something of that sort.

How are you executing your path?

If you are using a hotspot link, then insure that the type is a link not a URL link.

I use the: @command([Execute]; YourFieldNameHere) and this will open the link with the approriate software.
