Open ics file attachment in email crashes client

Problem/Query:

I received an ics calendar file. Tried to open it (it was shown as a Notes file icon) …. client crashed … should have imported it (IMHO).

Hi,

Opening .ics files directly from the OS (double-clicking) often crashes HCL Notes or when files contain non-ASCII characters. Do not open them directly. Instead, import .ics files via File > Import directly into your Notes Calendar, or drag and drop the file into your mail file. You can refer to this documentation.
