Is there a way to set a database to open up automatically once a user logs on? To make it the first thing they see when they login.
Any info is appreciated.

Customize the user’s Welcome Page. Include the database and view in one of the frames.
Subject: The documented technique is to add desired databases to a folder you name Startup
the only drawback to that technique is that the dbs are opened behind the Home page. Beyond that, you can simply set the desired bookmark to be the Home page.

notes.ini entry : startupdb=replicaid to launch a database when Notes starts

The notes.ini entry worked, it brought up the database automatically and it was the first thing seen. Now I just have to edit the notes.ini files. Thanks for all the help.

I am currently using this setting ‘StartUpDB’ in the notes.ini. It works great, however, after adding this setting to the user’s ini file they are receiving error when printing emails from the view.
Error:
Notes attempts to launch Lotus Notes again, then you get the error ‘You cannot quit Notes because a dialog is active. Switch to Notes first, close the dialog and then exit Notes.’. After clicking ‘OK’ to this error message you get another error ‘Cannot create window (Insufficient Memory)’.
If you remove the entry from the ini file these errors stop. You don’t receive these errors if you actually open the email first and then print it, only if you try to print it from the view.
Has anyone else come across this?

I placed a technical support call to Lotus regarding this error. I was able to walk them through recreating the problem. The engineer on the phone with me found a previous incident reported for the same problem with the status of ‘Resolved’. The incident stated that this issue has been fixed and will come out in release 6.5.4 which is due out at the end of March, 2005.
