Only Full Access Administrators can use iNotes

Just started working with R6.5 after several years of prior versions. We did a new install from scratch, and have found that no web clients other than the people named as “Full access administrators” can access their mail files via web/inotes. Full access admins can access all files via web, so I’m guessing there is a problem in the security settings, which appear to be much more extensive than prior versions. I’ve turned off SSL for now while trouble shooting the problem.

Is the somthing simple I’m missing?

“I’ve turned off SSL for now…”

Are you saying that your users can authenticate over http, while only admins can authenticate over https?

Switching to something feasible: Could it be that your users are used to authenticating with their shortname and are only trying that, while admins are resourceful enough to try their fullname? You said you did an install from scratch, which means a new server doc. The default internet authentication setting in a new server doc in the R6 NAB template is “fewer name variations with more security,” which means name/password internet authentication only supports entries in the username field.

Thanks for the response - a few clarifications -

Users cannot authenticate at all - I turned off SSL to troubleshoot the problem. Administrators can authenticate either way - presumably because they are named “full access administrators” in that new field in the 6.5 server document.

BUT!!! - You led me in the right direction. Clients were used to authenticating using their short names in the past - using their full name works now (but shortnames still don’t).

Thanks
