On the subject of missing Persons documents and Policy Settings

II have recently upgraded all my domino servers to R7.0.2. In the process of upgrading all the servers, I began having issues of Persons documents going missing for no apparent reason. I also began having some policy setting documents going missing.

Details

========

  1. Of the upgraded servers, I have a cluster pair. One is the admin server, the other its domino cluster. The missing Persons documents will always be from the admin server, while its cluster will still have that missing PErsons document, ie admin server has 301 PErsons, while cluster has 302 Persons.

I had to manually copy the “missing” persons doc from the cluster server back to the admin server. Then once clustering has taken place (ie pushed the copied doc to the cluster server), I had to manually delete on the cluster server one of the “duplicate” persons documents.

I noticed this only happens after I have upgraded one of the R6.5.x servers to R7.0.2. Prior to the servers upgrade, this did not happen.

No one (except the admin gp & localdomainservers) has the rights to delete documetns on the Domino Directory, so I can safely rule out accidental deletion by any of the users.

I noticed in some instances that the Persons documents started going AWOL about 5-10 minutes after some users have successfully changed their internet passwords fields on the R7.0.2 servers. In other instances, the persons docs started going missing when I have opened the affected users Persons docs.

  1. Policy settings document goes missing too. Sometimes I would see on the DDM or on the server console that a certain Policy document is not signed. Thereafter when I go to the Domino Directory to check out the policy doc, it shows that one of the policy setting docs in this policy doc “has been deleted”. This “deletion” however shows up on both the admin and its cluster server. I have to manually copy from another domino server (before the scheduled replication takes place).

These are all causing me sever distress since I cannot pinpoint the specific conditions that these documetns go missing, or are still “hidden” somewhere in the domino directory.

Anyone has any bright ideas?
