OK. I give up. Type Mismatch

OK, i give up.I have a type mis-match.

I am trying to:

Get a field.

See if there is something in it.

If there is, set it to blank.

Keep getting type mismatch…

Selected code:

Amongst other things, set a temporary variable to be called SOXtField. Variable is set to the name of the relevant field each time through the loop:

Dim x As Integer

x = 0

Do While x <=3

If x=0 Then Set item = doc.GetFirstItem(“RGDocumentation1”)

SOXtField = “RGDocumentation1”

If x=1 Then Set item = doc.GetFirstItem(“RGDocumentation2”)

SOXtField = “RGDocumentation2”

If x=2 Then Set item = doc.GetFirstItem(“RGDocumentation1_1”)

SOXtField = “RGDocumentation1_1”

If x=3 Then Set item = doc.GetFirstItem(“RGDocumentation2_1”)

SOXtField = “RGDocumentation2_1”

'do lots of other good stuff

'now, the famous line that gets type mismatch

If doc.SOXtField<>“” Then

'If the above worked we would then

itemName = item.Name

doc.itemName=“”

Call uidoc.Reload

Subject: OK. I give up. Type Mismatch…

If doc.SOXtField(0)<>“” Then

Subject: RE: OK. I give up. Type Mismatch…

of course, that damn 0 again…

I’m a bit rusty coz I’m not really working in the notes team anymore!

Subject: OK. I give up. Type Mismatch…

You missed the (0):

If doc.SOXtField(0) <>“” Then
