I understand compact at the server but am wondering about clients. e.g. will the personal address book on client machines remain at ODS 41 after 7.0.2 upgrade or will it automatically update ODS. Needless to say, we don’t want to force users to assume admin roles and use ncompact.

It won’t really matter that much even if it doesn’t. Also, users if required can compact the database using the compact button on the second tab of the db properties. Since by default the ‘enforce consistent ACL’ option is not enabled on a personal address book, they in effect should have manager access to the DB.
