I accidentally misspelled a user’s name and after fixing this small issue, I get a pop up window saying:
"Object variable not set
On Module: Click
Line 30
On Method: Click"
when I’m going to change the name of the owner of the mail db to her correctly spelled name. What can I do?
Subject: steps to reproduce?
I am unable to reproduce your problem.
Could you please specify the exact steps that you followed?
Thanks.
Subject: Step by step
Sure.
I opened the mail db then
-
I went to More → Preferences
-
clicked on “Change”, next to where the misspelled name was on the Owner field
-
clicked “OK” as I accept that by changing the owner of the mail db, some features may disappear
-
chose the correct name from the company address book → OK
and then I got the pop up.
Subject: Preferences error
I am not able to reproduce your problem, either by using More/Preferences or File/Preferences to generate the dialog box.
After receiving the error, if you display Preferences again, do you see the name change?
If you change a different item in Preferences (such as “spell check messages before sending”) without changing the name, do you still get an error when you click OK?
Subject: Thanks
At first, the correct name was displayed, then I clicked OK to go out. When I went in to see if the change went through, the incorrect name was back.
Eventually I got tired of this, and someone else took care of the problem. Thanks for your help tho
