Nupdate.exe has terminated abnormally

Have been seeing this error for a couple of days.

Did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Domino without success.

Which suggests a corrupt database (design object or view) and I believe that to be true (since boss is complaining about his 7.5 GB mail file not replicating and no mail on BlackBerry) but I wanted to see if anyone had other ideas before performing the proscribed actions.

TIA

Subject: nupdate.exe has terminated abnormally

Best way to recover, if it is a recoverable corruption:

nfixup -F -L database.nsf (fixes what is fixable, add -J if you use transaction logging on the server)

ncompact -i -c -D database.nsf (copy style compaction, the -D discards all indexes, so also sthe corrupted one)

Delete the database.FT folder if the database has a Full Text Index.

nupdall -R database

If this does not fix your database you have to restore from the latest back-up, or create a new replica from another known good replica, if available.

Good Luck,

Alexandre.

Thanks for your input, we did perform the holy trinity (compact, fixup, updall) and were able to get a functional database (and while db was offline did not have the error) back to the server.

Thanks again.
