Null Characters when replying to mail

We are using SAV for SMTP Gateways as our gateway for internet mail. What is happening is some people send us mail, we reply, and when our Domino server is passing the reply back to the gateway, the gateway refuses the message with a 550 and mentioning NULL characters not being allowed.

If the mail is being accepted from the internet, it must not have the NULL characters when it is coming or it would be rejected then.

This leads me to beleive that Domino is inserting the NULL characters either upon reciept of the mail or creation of the Reply.

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what was done to resolve it.

Did anyone find an answer to this. My client is experiencing this with outlook and Domino. They can not send any messsages to Symantec protected users. Please respond if there was a work around.

Thanks

Did anyone get a resolution to this problem? I am having the exact same problem using R5.0.12 along with SAV 4.0 for Gateways.

Thanks!
