I am working on the bosses home computer that is used for remote Notes access. The problem is that on this machine Notes keeps crashing with an NSD error saying that NTASKLDR caused an access violation.
The machine is Windows XP. First the crash/error was on Notes 6.03. Then we reinstalled Windows fresh and upgraded to Notes 6.5. It still crashes. In fact, it crashed with the same error upon opening Notes for the first time after the reinstall and upgrade. At best we can use it for a few minutes before the crash.
I removed the printer driver. I have no idea what would cause this. Our other two XP machines work fine. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

It may be that there is something malicious on your bosses machine which has taken over ntaskldr.

This tasks performs all background tasks on Notes client: repliction, agents, full text index, and so forth. So it is hard to know what causes the problem without someone in support looking at the NSD generated. Unfortenately, the only thing I can suggest is contacing support.

Have you checked if there is any full text indexed database in the back that is corrupted?And check if the Location document is correct and not corrupted. Try to start Lotus Notes with a new names.nsf or choose another location at login.
