Hi, i know this isn’t about Lotus Notes but I’ll maybe someone has gotten this to work:
I have an 8460 xSeries 205 IBM Server with an 4Lx RAID COntroller. I want to install WinNT4 but the driver for WinNT4 does not seem to work (the Win NT4Setup always says ‘cannot find hardware’). the POST 7.0 versions of ServerGuide only support for Win2K+, a 7.0 or prior version of ServerGuide would do the job but I cannot get my hands on it anywhere.
Any help ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Why would you want to install WinNT4 ?

What’s BDC and PDC? Can’t you just replace them with some standard software/hardware?

Hi Mika, a BDC/PDC are Backup/Primary Domain Controllers. They provide logon services for NT.
I guess I could retire the BDC and have users logon using a remote PDC controller and have them run off a Win2K member server…never thought of that…
Thanks!

Ok, if that works for you, I would personally not use any NT domains at all, as they slow down performance. So far I have had best performance measures by putting Domino servers into NT workgroups, and normal users don’t need access to the NT network filesystem anyway, they can use Notes 7 (with inplace editing of attachments) or Domino Web applications to store/retrieve their files.
