The problem:
We’ve experienced a spate of spyware & trojans. While this is going on, our Notes clients were unable to send messages: once the cursor was placed in the body text of teh email a message box pops up saying “NSD is running” and then adds a line of where the information is being saved. After clicking OK the Notes client quits.
Our solution:
So, we’ve used spybot search & destroy and the Yahoo antispy toolbar program to eliminate the threats. After doing so, the Notes client began working again. We have been able to replicate this error and fix on several users.
This is the first time I’ve heard of Notes being affected directly by spyware.
For the record, the spyware that was common to all of our users who had the trouble were: webrebates0, webrebates1, DSO Exploit, Alexa related, IE Plugin, VX2/f.
