NotesInitExtended() hangs when server is not up

I have Domino 6.0.2 installed on AIX, and when I run the sample C API program, it hangs at NotesInitExtended() if the Domino server is not up running. (It works fine if the server is up)

But this does not happen on Windows (any Domino version), 5.x or 6.5 on AIX, where the sample works no matter server is up or not.

Is there anything special about 6.0.2 ?

There’s nothing special about 6.02 or AIX. If you can get and post a full callstack it might help
