Notes with Blackberry and my CEO

I am having a real bad time trying to encounter a solution for this problem !

The CEO was moved from PDA to Blackberry and from Outlook to Notes all at the same time. My CEO came with a list of things he was missing in Notes that he was able to do in Outlook.

One of them was that in Outlook he was able to move things from his Sent Folder to a specific folder. I explained to him that in Notes Sent is a View and hence he can’t move the move with Drag and Drop or with the Folder / Move to Folder option. I told him that the only possible workaround was to copy the message to the Folder and then whne hitting delete he is prompted to Delete or to Remove the message. All the Remove action does is to add a new variable called ExcludefromView with the value S.

Everything is working fine on the Notes side, however on the Blackberry device SOME of the emails that he is sending using Notes are showing in his blackberry as received email and he as the sender. I had hard time explaining this problem to RIM support as it soundes very weird.

Today with the pressure to find the root cause, I started doing the same thing, moving messages from my Sent folder using the two step process described above. While on the phone with Rogers/RIM tech support, as I am also having some other issues, they told asked me to remove the folder structure from my State database in the BES server, I did it and within the next hour some (not all) of the emails that I moved from the Sent folder are now showing in my Inbox.

I will try Notes support and ask them but since my Template is modified maybe I am on my own, that’s why I am trying to find any advice on this community. Any help will be appreciated.

With the Blackberry, you may want to make sure that he only has his Inbox checked to be polled by the BES (or other folders if he has rules). This way when you move items from the Sent folder it will not appear on the BlackBerry. I do this all the time without it going to my BB.

Any doc u paste in ur mailfile will be treated as new mail for BB. I suggest u just drag & drop the sent mail from sent folder to the folder u want to put & then use remove from folder for the mail in sent folder so that it goes off the sent view

Or

while sending mail click on send & File & choose the golder u want to save a mail in

Thank you for your reply. We are moving by using the Folder Action button or by dragging and dropping. I am with Tech Support as I was able to reproduce something similar on my machine. I will post when I will find a solution. Maybe it will be just stop using the Copy to Folder.

Thanks again.
